I'm back!

It has been quite some time since i have updated, but per request i'm back! Last time i left you i was juicing. That only lasted 5 days, after i got my tooth pulled i had to eat solid food with my pain killers. I really enjoyed juicing and will do it again in the future.

I pretty much took the summer off from being a super freak about my fitness and nutrition, i drank beer and ate foods i shouldn't have!! as a result i ended up gaining 7lbs and a few inches over all. It could havee been worse but i learned my lesson and now i must pay. I re-hired my trainer and decited that i wanted to prepare my body to start training for figure competing. I never thought this was something that was possible for me to even consider since i had been so big in the past. Then a friend shared a link with me http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/tiffany_forni.htm and i realized that it was possible to transform my body into something amazing. My friend also introduced me to Layne Norton http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/insidethelife0.htm and now i have become completly hooked to the idea of competing... or at least looking like i could compete. So now i am putting thoes ideas into actions. I am going to be following a 12 week program http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/womans_lean_sexy_bible.htm My goal is that by the end of the program i will be in the right shape to be able to start training for competition. Instead of setting a weight goal, i set a time frame goal. I want to go balls to the wall for the next week and see what my body can do. I don't want a # on the scale to distract or discourageing me.

Since the last time i blogged a lot has changed in my diet. I quit eating meat and dairy except for fish and eggs. Not for ethical reasons but health reasons. If you want to understand my decision better please reference the movies http://www.kingcorn.net/ and http://www.foodincmovie.com/

So, today was day 1 of week one. Today this is what i did at the gym:
  • Bench Press: 3 sets of 8-12 reps

  • Bent Over Barbell Row: 3 sets of 8-12 reps

  • Dumbbell Shoulder Press: 3 sets of 8-12 reps

  • Skull Crushers: 3 sets of 8-12 reps

  • Barbell Curl: 3 sets of 8-12 reps

  • I also did some abs and i did the stair master for 3 min to warm up for my 15 min run, followed by a 5 min walk to cool down.

    My nutrition:

meal 1: 1/2 cup oat meal w/ 3 egg whites and cinnamon
    meal 2: rice protein shake
meal 3: tuna, 1 slice daves killer bread, 1/2 tbsp olive oil mayo, lettuce, onion, celery, flattened mango slices.
meal 4: Lemon zest luna bar

I still have dinner and a snack remaining for the day.

what i will be consuming per day:

    calories- 2124
    protein- 184g +
    carbs- 238-237g
    fat- 47-55

This will be adjusted according to my results.

I took some "before" pictures today and thought about posting them, then after looking at them again decided that i will wait until i have taken the "after" pictures!

GREAT NEWS- I quit smoking on 10/7/2011 and i did it cold turkey and only using herbs. If you are interested in how i quit let me know and i will provide you with the list of herbs i am taking.

    End day 2

So it's the end of day 2 and i survived! After my migraine went away and the tooth pain subsided i actually started to feel pretty amazing around about 7pm this evening. I went to the store and got a big ol' cart full of veggies and even now at 10:30pm i still have more energy than normal. I was in line at winco and a little girl looked at me unloading my cart and said to me "wow you are really healthy!" it made me smile. Then i got to talk all about my juicing to the lady who was checking me out. She kept asking me about the sweetness of the juice and she asked if i add splenda or anything to it. This made me laugh, and i told her the apples give it enough sweetness and splenda would totally defeat the purpose!

I tried some new recipes too!

    the original mean green is

    6 Kale Leaves
    1 Cucumber
    4 Celery Stalks
    2 Green Apples
    1/2 Lemon
    1 piece of ginger

    I made for breakfast

    apple
    celery
    carrot

And for the rest of tomorrow

    spinach
    kale
    apple
    pear
    lemon
    ginger
    cilantro
    celery

and let me tell ya this new recipe is Divine!! the pear and the cilantro really add a great flavor!

Since i'm on some pretty heavy pain meds for my tooth i did eat solid food today. I made potatoes with red, yellow and orange peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, onion and  mushrooms, it was pretty good!

    Stay tuned for day 3!

    Oh day 2...

I am at home with extreme tooth pain and a migraine. It's making it very difficult to tell how the juicing is affecting me so far. I don't feel hungry i just feel like eating out of boredom... i'm just going to keep drinking.

A side note, i really have to pee... and i mean alot! last night i woke up 3 times to go! which is abnormal for me, i usually sleep thru the whole night.

    I will update again tonight!

    Juicing Day 1

On my 6/6 Juice drinks for the day. Juicing is the messiest thing ever! Other than that so far so good. Today hunger was not an issue, and even though i was battling a migraine most the day my energy level was pretty high. BUT it's only day one, from what i have experienced in the past with other cleanses days 2 & 3 are the worst! I ate some delicious cherries from my moms tree but that was the only solid food today, i am allowed to eat raw and cooked veggies while juicing so if tomorrow proves to be more difficult i may have to have some solid veggies for dinner tomorrow but we shall see!

    Wish me luck!

    Juicin'

I have wanted to do a juice fast for a while now to help with my plateau. I found this documentary called fat, sick & nearly dead to learn more about it. I was completly inspired! So here it goes... day 1!

    The bet.

So, apparently people actually read this and are wondering why i haven't posted in a while. The short answer... i'm lazy! oh well... i'm back and i'm commited to trying to keep updated as best possible.

Since my last post i had just been sick. I was really motivated to get back on track but it was ALOT harder that i thought it would be. I felt so out of shape and like i had taken a few steps backward. Since i hadn't worked out in almost 3 weeks my endurance and my muscle tone was not where i was before and i felt like i was starting over from scratch! but i'm back on track now.

I started training 2 clients of my very own! I give them weekly work outs and help guide them in the right direction on nutrition. One of them even lost 3lbs in the first week and has been very dilligent about working out. The other proves to be more difficult but that's ok because it's not easy and i don't expect them to be perfect... cause I know i'm not! As lame as this sounds i really do feel like i know what i want to be when i "grow up" I feel like being a personal trainer is what i'm supposed to do, and i really enjoy it!

In weight loss news I am now sitting at 176.7lbs which in totall is about 109lb loss from when i began many moons ago. My trainer says that we are done toning and now i'm working on building muscle. We also made a bet that i will be in a size 12 by feb. 18th wich is my birthday... if i win i get to get boozy on my birthday! so i have really been stepping it up at the gym and plan to hit it hard for the next 3 weeks!!!

I have started running, right now i'm running intervals 45 seconds running and 1min walking for 30+ min -- i am training for the warrior dash!!! http://www.warriordash.com/register2011_oregon.php my goal is to be able to run 5 miles by september! so far so good, i really enjoy running. I injured my knee so i'm taking it easy but i'm definatly making progress.

My trainer told me that a lady she trains told her about a girl in her zumba class that has a tattoo that says "beauty is pain" and that when ever she feels like giving up she says to her self "beauty is pain" - my trainer Lara was like yeah i know her! That was one of the best compliments that i have gotten! it made me feel so good to beable to inspire some one with my body art!!! The lady came up to me in zumba the following week and told me about it her self. LOVES IT!!!

Anyway... that was a lot of catching up. I plan to post up some recipies and pics of food soon so stay tuned!

and now some good quotes i found....
